New adventures

Nog een paar uurtjes (proberen) slapen in m'n eigen bed en het is zover. Klaar voor een nieuw avontuur, nog een 'once in a lifetime'. Eerste stop? Sydney!

Just a couple of hours left to (try and) sleep in my own bed before it's time. Ready for a new adventure, another 'once in a lifetime'. First stop? Sydney!

Zoals jullie wel kunnen zien, schrijf ik dit blog bericht in het Nederlands én in het Engels. Ik zal niet elke keer beide talen in 1 bericht gebruiken. Sommige berichten zullen misschien helemaal in het Engels zijn, andere dan weer volledig in het Nederlands. Zo kan iedereen die wil mijn blog meevolgen, ongeacht de taal die ze spreken.

Ik ben er klaar voor. Of ik denk dat ik er klaar voor ben. Een nieuw avontuur, een nieuw werelddeel. Mijn avontuur start met 6 weekjes Australië. Ik noem Australië ook wel mijn andere 'thuis', want als je een heel jaar ergens woont, begint het toch als thuis aan te voelen. Ik liet er dan ook een stukje van m'n hart achter en hoewel het niet makkelijk is om terug afscheid te nemen van iedereen in België, toch zal ik heel blij zijn om terug in Australië te zijn.

Omdat ik eerst naar Sydney vlieg, ben ik ook helemaal niet zenuwachtig om te vertrekken. Ik weet dat mijn gastgezin me komt halen aan de luchthaven, ik weet waar ik ga slapen, ik ken de weg in Sydney,...

De volgende vlucht zal iets spannender zijn. Op 16 oktober vlieg ik naar Vancouver, Canada. Een nieuw land en werelddeel om te ontdekken. Ik weet nog niet wat me te wachten staat, maar ik heb die sprongetjes in het onbekende gemist!

So you probably noticed that half of my blog is written in Dutch and the other half in English. Not every blog post will look like this. Some posts will be in Dutch, some will be in English and some will be in both. This makes sure that everyone can read my blog, no matter what language they speak.

I'm ready, or I think I am ready. A new adventure, a new continent to explore. My adventure starts with 6 weeks in Australia. I often call Australia 'my other home', 'cause when you live in a different country for a year, it starts to feel like home. I left a piece of heart in Australia and even though it's hard to say goodbye to everyone in Belgium, I will be so happy to be back.

Because my first stop is Sydney, I'm not nervous at all. I know my host family will pick me up from the airport, I know where I'm going to stay, I know my way around Sydney,...

My next flight will be more exciting. On the 16th of October I will fly to Vancouver, Canada. A new country and a new continent to explore. I can't wait!
